This small, scrappy spy, maps enemy territories for the OverWorld Warriors
Blazier comes from the union of the English verb blaze, which, among many meanings, represents to mark a route (especially through vegetation), with the English suffix eer, derived from the Middle French ier and denotes someone associated with or engaged in the activity described by the noun.
Therefore, Blazier, is an agent noun derived from the English word trailblazer, a synonym of pathfinder or, in some circumstances, pioneer, which is precisely the essence of his job.
Blazier resembles a short, very skinny, and yet fatty, goblin-like with the most known of the Texan stereotypes: long, curved horns like those of the regional cattle, heavy accent and a big cowboy hat with goggles on them — although Blazier’s is more like a mix of a cowboy’s with a wizard’s o.O
He has a sunflower-gold skin, big light green eyes under heavy, hairless eyebrows, long and pointy teeth, with the lower canines thicker and bigger, slipping out of his strong and square jaw with a mid-grey long goatee beard. Under the big hat, a voluminous Mohawk hair hides along with his tiny ears, and, on his hands, four thin fingers with moderately long and sharp nails. And as for clothing, Blazier looks like a chilled out hitchhiker, wearing a little waistcoat, blue jeans-like trousers belted with a large cowboy buckle, a rope hanging around his waist and mountaineering boots. In his squared backpack, a roll of paper — allegedly a map — and a bezel.
Personality & Behaviour
Blazier is a well-humoured Creature who travels around all of Perim, mapping remote and unexplored regions — sometimes even on enemies’ territories — as the OverWorld spy and cartographer. Given his adventurous spirit, he’s not afraid of the unknown lying ahead, even if alone as he usually is. Often seen piloting his Mowercycle, he faces on equal terms all kinds of obstacles, from Creatures to the Location where he may find himself at, always with jokes or some sort of mockery if the situation favours.
During his expeditions, he usually has a nose for hidden secrets, always with that squinting eyes look, like if suspecting of something. While this innate curiosity helped him find the entrance to the Akarakk Cavern within the Crystal Cave — as mentioned during the events of A Rare Hazard — it almost led him to death while exploring the ancient ruins of Gigantempopolis.
However, more than just a passion for being an explorer or to serve his Tribe with his skills, Blazier is ultimately looking for something. Something he’s been searching for his entire life. Something he didn’t realize he already found…
Even though Blazier is brave enough to venture himself in dangerous Locations, he’s not much of battling. But in time of need, mostly when his own survival is at stake, as a child of earth he empowers himself from the Element he has affinity with. As a Mugic caster, Song of GeoNova and Geo Flourish are always part of his Mugical repertoire.
As knower of the lands, at expense of a Mugician Blazier creates his own itinerary, temporarily ignoring a Location and choosing his next destination at will.
Blazier strives to be the first to discover new lands. History doesn't care about whoever comes second
After years of exploration, gathering data of countless regions, uncovering all secrets he could find without ever finding what he utterly wanted most, Blazier realized the moment of revisiting the past had come. He needed to go deeper, thoroughly. Comes into play the much braver Citadel Cartographer.
With the new ability that allows him to expend his affinity to the Earth Element, the Citadel Cartographer allows for a sneak-peek at his map collection, deciding to stay and explore or move forward, off to an already visited Location.
Blazier appears, in Perim or in Chaotic, in the following episodes:
